St Thomas Rest Park
A peaceful historic park to get away from the hustle and bustle.
A quiet place of greenery and history to relax in.
Peer through the window of the past into Crows Nest’s early history and visit the Crows Nest Cottage built in the 1830s and the historic cemetery, or just generally enjoy the nice, peaceful location.

Hume Street Park, situated between Crows Nest Metro Station and Willoughby Rd, is a lovely landscaped park that provides a particularly good place for taking a break, sitting with takeaway, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Ernest Place, a cute village square with greenery just off Willoughby Road, that hosts community events and performances from time to time and is a good place to duck into for a bit like Hume Street Park.
Crows Nest History Walk
What makes the Crows Nest History Walk particularly notable is that it can serve as a great activity to spend some time between meals, coffee and drinks.
Have breakfast or lunch then leisurely walk through old Crows Nest before finding your way back to Willoughby Road to grab lunch or dinner, and perhaps a drink or more.
Starting at St Thomas Rest park, the Crows Nest History Walk journeys from the Crows Nest Cottage, the old estate and St Thomas church and cemetery through to the main hub of Willoughby Road.
On the way to Willoughby Road’s main attractions, see how the landscape changes and evolves from the more olden style near St Thomas Rest Park to the modern near the end, and how some of the history still remains largely intact even amongst the modern shops and businesses if you look closely, but also in more obvious examples such as the Crows Nest Hotel built for Tooheys in 1927.
Crows Nest Fest (annual event)
Once a year, all of the great culture and community of Crows Nest come together for Crows Nest Fest.
On the 18th of October 2026, a large area centered around the main thoroughfare of Willoughby will be closed off to vehicles and turned into a sprawling market and festival.
Between 10am and 5pm on Sunday the 18th of October, 2026, Crows Nest Fest is set to have more than 200 stalls, four stages with live music and performances, with delicious food and drink, alongside games and family activities, art and entertainment.
Enjoy the spectacular community-focused Crows Nest Fest with its markets, gourmet food, art and creativity, circus-inspired entertainment such as pony rides and petting zoos, and much more, centred around many of Crows Nest’s already established attractions and landmarks such as the great bars, restaurants and cafés of Willoughby Rd and surrounds, and parks such as Hume Street Park and Ernest Place.
